«We live Vallocaia,
as a family»

people

For more than a generation, we have lived Vallocaia as though it were a family member. We are winemakers by calling, in harmony with the land and colours of Montepulciano. We share the culture and traditions of Tuscany conveying warm hospitality and enthusiastically maintaining and promoting customer relationships.

We believe in respecting the rhythms of nature and for this reason, we personally monitor each phase of our work. We explore and promote the potential of the surroundings with passion and curiosity.

Giovanni Capuano

Direction

Attracted to the plant kingdom since a young age, he studied Enology in Avellino and then Agrarian Sciences at the University of Perugia. In 1999 he started to work in Tuscany and discovered the beauty of Vallocaia…here he put down his roots. “I have had the great fortune of being able to coincide my passions with my work!”

Giulia Fiacca

Visits and tastings

“In China, I discovered, thanks to languages, that you can be a citizen of the world and an ambassador of your culture”.
Since her return to Italy in 2013, Giulia loves telling the stories of Vallocaia with her charismatic proficiency, bringing it to life for guests from all over the world on guided walks through the vineyards and the winery.

Luca Biancucci

Kitchen

Our chef, Luca, began his training at the school of hotels in Chianciano Terme to then refine his experience and professionalism in prestigious restaurants in Italy and abroad. An Executive chef for seventeen years in a historical winery in Montepulciano, he joined our family for the opening of the Cucina di Vallocaia.
“Thanks to my knowledge of the area and its products, I create traditional dishes with that personal touch of modernity and innovation”.

Enrico Benicchi

Sales and Marketing

Enrico matured his experience in the world of wine within large-scale contexts ranging from Etna to Val d’Orcia to then return to work with Sangiovese, entering our estate in 2013.
“Travelling around the world to promote the beauty and culture of Tuscany invigorates enthusiasm and pride for my roots”.

Francesca Coppi

Administration and Sales

He has been working in Vallocaia for more than ten years now.
He enthusiastically takes care of administration and sales. He started working in the wine business as soon as he finished his studies, a little by chance... a little by passion.
'Every day I arrive from Monte Amiata where I live, and every day is a bit like the first: the vineyards around here always offer a new spectacle.
I couldn't imagine my days without the countryside, just as I can hardly imagine my dinners without wine! ... Yes, I am also a good eater!"

Andrea Scaccini

Production

Native to the area, like the Sangiovese cultivated at Montepulciano, he studied Viticulture and Enology at the University of Florence before going on to work in Italy and abroad in France and New Zealand.
“I have always been captivated by the areas of Argiano and therefore of Vallocaia where, from a young age, I used to wander in my free time. I wanted my passion for agriculture and in particular for the world of wine to transform and be a part of my daily life”.
